Yoga is a journey. It’s a path you follow, learning from the people and experiences along the way. And at some point those insights become part of who you are, until you radiate that understanding from within. Then it’s time to share.

Learning to teach yoga will not only deepen your personal practice, it will allow you to share that knowledge with others as they set out on their own journey.

The Yoga Garden 200-hr. Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Immersion program will give you the tools, techniques and knowledge to safely and dynamically guide students toward their own understanding. Taught by veteran teachers Mark Nelson, Chae Yang-Bullock, Nikki Robinson and Rachael Hunter, as well as contributing specialists, it’s a comprehensive course that teaches you the philosophy and physics of this life changing art.

Your journey into yoga is as individual as you are. Whether you want to teach or simply deepen your own practice, it’s time to let your light be a guide for others on their path.

MEET YOUR TEACHER TRAINERS:

chae yang

Chae began her yoga practice in 2001 and found asana practice very challenging but was drawn to the philosophy. Her continued practice led to teaching public classes and delving in teacher trainings just five years later. She has completed numerous trainings and immersions in Flow (including Prana Vinyasa), Anusara, Sadhana, Yogic Scripture, Subtle and Physical Anatomy, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Aging and Ayurveda. She offers gratitude to her many teachers; especially, Shiva Rea for introducing the essence of Sadhana, Michelle Synnestvedt for showing the necessity of self inquiry, Shari Friederickson for helping find healing and her husband John for his boundless support. She continues Asana studies with Christina Sell, Zhenja LaRosa and Carrie Owerko.

Her classes offer challenge but are also filled with compassion and laughter offering a toolbox for living life. She has participated as teacher and assistant in Yoga Alliance approved teacher trainings since 2009. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as ERYT500, RYT500, RPYT.

Mark YTT

Mark Nelson has been practicing yoga since 1991. Early on, he fell in love with the feeling of openness and focus that comes from yoga. That combination of mindfulness and movement drew him deeper into the practice, studying Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga with such renowned teachers as David Swenson, Annie Pace, Jill Manning, Corina Benner and Paulie Zink. Mark teaches yoga as a personalized healing science and a profound life-changing philosophy. His classes unite the flow of breath with the flow of the body, guiding students to a creative blend of physical exploration, inward focus and real-life philosophy. Mark has directed the Yoga Garden studios since 2010.

Nikki YTT Square

Nikki Robinson began her love affair with yoga as respite from a high-intensity job on a trading floor in New York City. Nikki completed her 200-hr. Anusara Teacher Training with Sue Elkind and Naime Jezzeny. She has also completed her Pre- and Post-Natal training with Sue Elkind and Levels 1 & 2 Restorative Training with Jillian Pransky. She supplements her teacher training with extensive philosophy training with Susanna Harwood-Rubin and anatomy studies with Leslie Kaminoff. Using alignment cues to empower and encourage students of all levels, she seeks to physically challenge her students in a way that fosters the very best in each student. Nikki lives in Wynnewood, PA with her family who continue to be her most challenging and loving yoga teachers.

Rachael YTT

Rachael Hunter began practicing yoga in 1996 when she moved to Princeton, NJ for postdoctoral studies. Learning an Iyengar-style practice as well as Vinyasa flow, she completed her teacher training at Verge Yoga in Wayne PA. • Have you only just scratched the surface of yogic philosophy and energetics?
• Do you want to deepen your understanding of anatomy as it relates to asana?
• Have you been inspired by experienced teachers and want to learn their methods?
• Do you need a challenge to spark your creativity and personal growth?

If you answered yes to the above questions, now may be the time to take your teaching and practice to the next level.

WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR 2017 PROGRAM

We all know that good yoga teachers are hard to come by, but really excellent teachers are just plain rare! To take your own teaching style from good to excellent, you need a deep toolbox filled with innovative, creative and dynamic teaching techniques. You need proven principles that can be applied in a broad range of situations.

If you’ve completed a 200-hr. program, that means you’ve established the basics of your teaching knowledge. But you can do more than that. You can become an exceptional yoga teacher. This 300-hr. Advanced Teacher Training will help you further the skills needed to create your own unique teaching style. Your classes will be dynamic, subtle, surprising and magical! The modules in this training will spark creative curiosity about your own personal development and will help you enhance the lives of your students.

Our program meets one weekend a month, ten months of the year, at the Yoga Garden studios in Narberth and South Philly. In addition to the in-studio weekends, we meet at The Himalayan Institute in the Pocono Mountains for an off-site immersion with master teachers. To complete the required elective hours, participants are required to attend additional approved workshops through the Yoga Garden over the course of 24 months. Participants have the flexibility to choose the topics of these workshops to enhance their specific areas of interest and can pace their learning to best suit their schedule. Upon completion, you can register with the Yoga Alliance to become a certified 500-hr. Registered Yoga Teacher.
